SMU students know that the generosity of others directly influences their ability to become world changers on the Hilltop. Because tuition covers only about 70 percent of the SMU experience, students count on the annual support of caring donors to help bridge the gap.
Current students also pay it forward by making their own gift to SMU.
Each year hundreds of current students show their support by making a gift to their future alma mater. Last year, current students contributed over $75,000 to SMU in current-use funds. Think sacrificing a $20 pizza isn’t meaningful? Think again. Small gifts add up!
Many students give to the Student Emergency Fund, a resource for students in need of immediate support due to a pressing hardship. Other students choose to support a student organization or program they are passionate about. Many give to the SMU Fund, which provides flexible support to meet the University’s greatest needs. This year, SMU challenges current students to raise at least $50,000 in current-use funds through the Pony Power initiative.
In short, give to any area you choose. Your participation matters.
Senior Class Gift Campaign
The Senior Class Gift Campaign, a long-standing tradition at SMU, is one way that seniors can leave a legacy as they graduate. Students may choose to give back to any area of the University that is important to them. They can also set up gifts to recur monthly, quarterly or annually. This enables future Mustangs to count on annual support from alumni and secures inclusion in SMU’s Hilltop Society which recognizes loyal donors to SMU.
