In Memory of Dr. Pamela Anthony
Earlier this year, the SMU community lost one of our greatest advocates for students when Dr. Pamela Anthony, Vice President for Student Affairs was taken from us after a battle with cancer.
Each year, the Senior Class comes together to give back to the university that has given them so much over the last four years. This year, gifts from the Class of 2017 Gift will honor the memory of Dr. Anthony. Her legacy will be memorialized in the form of a tree as a physical reminder of her selfless contributions, which have inspired us and will inspire students for years to come.
To say Dr. Anthony was an accomplished individual would not do justice to her incredible work ethic and passion for the students at SMU. From the moment she set foot on campus, Dr. Anthony not only satisfied the responsibilities of her positions but went above and beyond in ensuring that the needs of students were constantly being met. All the while remaining exceptionally kind, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone she encountered.
We invite graduating seniors to contribute to the senior gift by making a donation of $20.17 or more. Our goal of $5,000 will allow for the tree to be placed on campus to memorialize Dr. Anthony. If 250 seniors make a gift of $20.17 we will reach this goal. Make your gift now to support this special project.
*If the $5,000 goal is not reached, money contributed during this campaign will be placed in the Student Emergency Fund, which was one of Dr. Anthony’s many priorities.
