SMU: Center for Presidential History

D-Day Travel Course

History 3385 D-Day: Czech and Germany in WWII and the Cold War

A Travel Course for Students, Alumni & Friends of SMU

May 16-26, 2022

Join SMU’s Center for Presidential History’s Jeffrey A. Engel and Essential History Expeditions’ Brian DeToy for a spectacular and engaging examination of central Europe’s rich history-and-culture. With a WWII/Cold War focus, this expedition will also bridge the dynamic centuries that made this land the heartbeat of imperial power and cultural hegemony.

This intergenerational tour offers three credits for students, and for alumni and friends the opportunity to see the places history took place – and to relive a bit of college life.  When you make your charitable donation of $1000 you signal to us that you are ready to register for the trip.  Your donation also serves as your deposit so it is non-refundable.

Your donation benefits the Center for Presidential History, its research, educational outreach, and the students’ travel expenses participating in educational trips such as this one.

All cancellations must be made in writing to SMU and Essential History Expedition (EHE).

  • The $1000 donation/deposit is non-refundable.
  • For cancellations made 60 days before tour, tour cost minus itemized sunk costs and a $50 per person administrative fee will be refunded by EHE.
  • For cancellations made between 30-60 days before tour, 50% of the tour cost will be refunded by EHE.
  • For cancellations made less than 30 days before tour, 25% of the tour cost will be refunded by EHE.
