SMU Funds for Immediate Needs

The COVID-19 pandemic has left few individuals, organizations and communities untouched, including the Hilltop. Despite drastic operational cost-cutting measures, a significant shortfall still exists.

We seek to raise $3 million before March 31, 2021:

  • $500,000 more to fully fund the $2.5 million Presidential Fund for Immediate Needs (PFIN)
  • $2.5 million for the new Athletics Fund for Immediate Needs (AFIN)

COVID-19’s toll on Athletics’ ticket and merchandise sales is impacting every area of the University. To alleviate this, we’ve created the Athletics Fund for Immediate Needs.

Donor support is more crucial than ever to maintaining the first-class experience that SMU offers students. Help us Pony Up by making a fully tax-deductible gift to AFIN or PFIN today!

Your Giving at Work

Support the SMU Fund

When you join the Pony Power stampede and invest in the SMU Fund, you can direct your support to the entire University – to SMU’s greatest needs, to scholarships or to faculty – to the highest priorities of a school or the libraries, or to campus experiences through Athletics or Student Affairs. Your gift to the SMU Fund makes an immediate impact and helps every school and unit address the University’s strategic priorities.

Support the Mustang Club

Your gift to the Mustang Club provides SMU Athletics with the tools to support our 424 talented student-athletes that compete in 17 Division I sports programs to be nationally competitive in their academic and athletic endeavors. Gifts to the Mustang Club provide everything from the education and academic support of our student-athletes, to athletic equipment, health care, and life skills training, all of which are part of their world-class education at SMU.

Health changer

Donors to the SMU Fund and the University’s community service and hands-on learning initiatives help students develop valuable leadership skills while strengthening their communities. As a biology and human rights student, Dominique Earland ’17 used SMU grants to create a life-saving toolkit for women who may become mothers. Read more about Dominique and support the SMU Fund.
